GRANT OF SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION (SSC)
IN ARMY DENTAL CORPS

 

CHANGE IN ENTRY PROCEDURE

 

1. Procedure for entry to SSC in Army Dental Corps from the year 2015 onwards has been changed as follows:-

 

(a) Eligibility: Candidates with at-least 55% marks in final BDS or with MDS qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India.

(b) ‘Screening’ for Calling for Interview: Eligible candidates desirous of joining SSC in Army Dental Corps will have to appear in All India Post Graduate Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGDEE) conducted by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare every year, through All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for making admission to various Post Graduate courses.

The merit list of the aforesaid examination will be used for Screening of candidates to be called for ‘interview’ for the purpose of grant of SSC in AD Corps for that year. The number of candidates short listed for interview will be ten times the number of vacancies.

(c) Procedure for Applying: All eligible candidates will have to appear in the AIPGDEE and should tick the option ‘For grant of SSC in Army Dental Corps’ while filling the online Application Form.

(d) Interview: Desirous civilian dental surgeons will have to apply along with the Mark-sheet of AIPGDEE-2015, in response to the advertisement published by the Directorate General Dental Services in May/Jun 2015. Short listed candidates will be called for Interview by the duly constituted ‘Selection Board’ at New Delhi for selection.
